| 10th February 2010: The First candidates recieve
the new NPTC Award for chainsaw use |
| NPTC City and Guilds have been in the process of updating and
re-issuing the series of chainsaw certificates of competence for
the past number of months. Towards the end of 2009 the re-written
assessment
schedules were made public for consultation. During the beginning
of this year there has been a period of crossing over to the new
Awards, which include new subject areas for assessment. On the 10th
of February Tree care ireland assessed their first candidates for
the new NPTC Awards in
Ireland. The assessment process is largely the same but the
new layout is a little easier to work through and some of the new
questions are welcome additions to the process of gaining qualifications
with NPTC. |

| 1st January 2010: Changes to our website for
2010 |
We have decided to implement a few changes to our website from
the 1st January 2010. We are concentrating on making it easier
and quicker to get the information you need and hoping to pack
more rich and relevent content into the website too. The main
changes will be as follows:
- The home page has also changed allowing
quicker access to the different services that we specialise
in. All of the pictures in the body of this page are linked
to our services.
- The training pagewill give access
to full information for each training course that we provide.
We want our customers to be able to download this information
from PDF files also. You will also be able to book and pay for
courses online and receive discounts for doing so.
- We have a new safety services
page highlighted some our the professional and unique services
we have developed in 2009 to assist companies with Health and
Safety compliance and also help monitor tree health with a range
of tree inspection services. This page is currently being constructed.
- Our Assessments page has now become an Awards page due to
changes in the NPTC City and Guilds qualifications. more info
about these changes is available from NPTC
and on our awards page
- Our greatest success of 2009 has been the Free
chainsaw workshops so we have changed our workshops page
to a free course page
